Welcome to the Facilities & Services Training Calendar. The training provided here represents a broad spectrum of topics that have been vetted and determined to be relevant to professionals in F&S. 

Training Requests

We're committed to supporting your growth and success, and we're looking for your input on learning opportunities. If you or your team have a training need, please submit a Facilities & Services Training Request.

Monthly Safety Training

Required monthly safety training sessions are sent to staff directly through the Grainger Learning Management System (GLMS). The GLMS platform allows employees to see their specific training dashboard as well as gives supervisory staff an enhanced way to track and record engagement and completion.

Staff will see emails from alerts_graingerlms@icertainty.com when new trainings are available. You can access GLMS and assigned training at fands.icertainty.com using your netID and password.

    This mini presentation will define microaggressions, messages, and themes experienced by individuals and groups. The presentation will also provide recommendations for effectively identifying and responding to microaggressions.

    The pace of change at work is accelerating—and AI literacy is quickly becoming a must‑have skill. In this APPA webinar, University of Cincinnati engineer and educator Sid Thatham shows practical, low‑risk ways facility leaders and campus teams can use today’s tools to boost productivity, sharpen decisions, and upskill for what’s next.

  • 1:00 - 3:00 pm

    This course will provide you with the knowledge and tools to develop your emotional intelligence. You’ll learn how to avoid self-sabotaging outcomes by altering how you perceive and respond to emotionally charged situations. In addition, you’ll improve your ability to resolve conflict constructively, create a productive work environment, build, and mend mend relationships.

    Through this course you will learn which time-management style works best for you and how to eliminate bad work habits. As a result, you will be able to increase productivity, be more dependable, handle interruptions, feel in-control of your workweek and reduce stress.

    This training will educate participants on legal protections related to immigration and citizenship status under the Illinois Human Rights Act. The training will cover rights in employment, housing, education, finance, and public spaces, and highlights protections against retaliation.

  • 10:00 - 11:00 am

    Workplace stress is unavoidable. The key to handling stress is not to avoid it, but to find methods to work with it without losing resolve. This course is designed to give participants the tools they need to identify workplace stressors, end self-deprecating talk, build communicative workplace structures, and calmly deal with change.

  • 12:00 - 1:00 pm

    This session will explore best practices for future-proofing elevator communication systems, managing vendor access risks, and ensuring continuous compliance through proactive diagnostics and automated testing. Attendees will leave with practical strategies to reduce liability, support compliance, and modernize systems with confidence.

  • 1:00 - 3:00 pm

    The Leadership Development for Women course will provide participants with the tools to navigate challenges, gain confidence to lead, and motivate future generations. Additionally, participants will gain knowledge on the value of networking and mentoring for inspiring others to recognize their full potential as leaders.

    This workshop will examine the possibility of increasing happiness through the power of positive thinking. Happiness will spread throughout your organization, and have a positive effect on everyone. With our Increasing Your Happiness workshop your participants will engage in unique and helpful ways to increase their happiness.

  • 1:00 - 2:30 pm

    In this course you will learn how to pinpoint unethical behavior, create a plan for an effective ethics program, and deal with unethical co-workers. As a result, you will be able to build organizational trust, have greater integrity when approaching problems, have increased respect among workers, and establish clear standards of ethical behavior.

    Organizations of all types and sizes use strategic plans to become more successful and competitive. Strategic plans help to focus energy and resources on activities that align with the organization’s mission and vision. They help to increase efficiency and reduce costs; improve marketing efforts and organizational development; and manage risk and uncertainty.

  • 1:00 - 2:00 pm

    This course will provide an overview of implicit bias to support individual and interpersonal behavior change.
