The Gilman International Scholarship Program provides awards of $5,000 (plus up to a $3,000 supplement for critical language study) for U.S. citizen undergraduate students to pursue summer, semester, or academic-year study abroad opportunities in other countries. This is a need-based award, and to be eligible, you must be receiving a Federal Pell Grant.

The Humanities Research Institute and The Women and Gender in Global Perspectives Program co-host an annual event bringing together faculty, staff, students, and community members to recognize people who have made a difference in academia. Each speaker will have five minutes to tell the story of the woman in his or her discipline that changed the field in important ways.

In 2021, the American Association of Teachers of Slavic and East European Languages (AATSEEL), through a generous grant, piloted a non-creditbearing program leading to a professional Certificate in Diverse and Inclusive Pedagogies (CDIPS) for K-12 and post-secondary faculty and graduate students who plan to pursue careers teaching Slavic and East European languages.
