    Commemorates the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai. Services are held at synagogues. Jewish students or employees observing Shavuot may stay home from work during this period, and some may request schedule adjustments in order to observe.     The Emerging Research Leaders Academy provides vital leadership and team science training that will help mid-career faculty pursue large, multi-PI grants, lead campus research initiatives, enhance their own research programs, and ultimately position Illinois for research excellence. Applicants must be nominated by their dean, department head, or director by May 16.

    Occurring on the tenth day of the twelfth month of the Islamic calendar, Eid al-Adha commemorates the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son to God. It is tradition to sacrifice a goat and use it to feed your family, friends, and the poor. Muslim students or employees observing Eid al-Adha may request schedule adjustments in order to observe.

    This workshop focuses on developing assessments designed to help students achieve the learning objectives of your course. We will examine different types of assessments and consider their respective strengths and downsides. You will then set to work choosing the assessments for your course.

    In a good course, your activities should count as good practice for your assessments, and since your assessments are well-aligned with your objectives, your activities will also help your students achieve their learning goals.
