    The ancient poet Sappho coined "sweetbitter" in one of her most evocative verses, still striking us to the heart nearly three millennia later. As with so many ancient figures, the poet is more legend than person today, her story told and retold even as her poetry continues to enchant and move. This exhibit will be on display through mid-August 2026.

    With over 100 prints on display—including works by Rembrandt, Goya, and Dürer—"Imagination, Faith, and Desire" is extraordinary for the significance of the works and the exceptionally high quality of the impressions, the excellence of which rivals the holdings at many major museums.     The kinSTEM Conference is designed to provide a space for STEM communities to gather, reflect, and grow. Rather than define a single path, the goals remain open to interpretation, allowing participants to bring their own meanings, experiences, and questions into the space.

This is the first tool that lets anyone—from researchers to curious students—step inside an accurate 3D model of a cell and see how life is organized at the tiniest scale.

    Join us to celebrate Rest Lab 8: Greenspace. You'e invited to enter a playful, restorative greenspace inside the museum. Soft artificial turf covers the gallery floor, inviting visitors to slow down and stretch out. By creating a visual and tactile interruption in typical museum spaces, "Rest Lab 8: Greenspace," provides a calm, grounding atmosphere for people to gather.

    Inspired and informed by the groundbreaking Turnaway Study, conducted by Dr. Diana Greene Foster, a 2023 MacArthur Fellow and researcher at the UCSF, this play uses the words and experiences of real people to bust myths and reduce abortion stigma. Drama, humor, and audience participation make it an engaging and thought-provoking theatrical event.
