    The 2025 Sheth Distinguished Alumni Lecture celebrates an internationally renowned scientist, professor and proud Illini alumnus, Dr. Taeghwan Hyeon, the director of the Center for Nanoparticle Research in the Institute for Basic Science at Seoul National University in Seoul, South Korea. This event is free and open to the public, but RSVPs are strongly encouraged.

    The 2025-26 Gotlieb Lecture — honoring the legacy of David Gottlieb, best known for his isolation of chloramphenicol from Streptomyces venezuelae at the University of Illinois — will feature Dr. Gerard (Gerry) Wright, who is a professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences at McMaster University.
