Mark Jarmer, Director of the Research and Appropriations Unit for the Office of the Speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives, will offer an overview of the General Assembly, the legislative process, the Speaker’s office, and the role of a Research Analyst. He will offer advice and share a brief look at the experience of serving on a team of Research Analysts for a typical legislative session in the Research & Appropriations Unit of the Illinois House of Representatives. Current Research Analysts Jelani Saadiq and Madeline McCune will share their perspectives on working with the legislature and will offer advice, answer questions, and engage in further discussions.
