Writers Workshop General Events

This presentation will provide an introduction to writing research statements for fellowship and grant proposals. You'll learn more about the statement's purpose in relation to other application materials, review common features, practice explaining the novelty and significance of your research, and gain tips for writing impactfully. Writers from any discipline are welcome, and this presentation will be most effective for students with limited fellowship and grant writing experience who are seeking to demystify the application process.

This in-person presentation will be held in the Main Library, room 106, and is open to current University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign affiliates (students, faculty, and staff). Please register with your University of Illinois email account by August 3.

All registrants will receive access to the presentation materials via email the following business day. In-person events are NOT recorded. If a prior Zoom recording is available, it will be included in the presentation materials.
