Join us on Wednesday, April 22 from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a Women in Tech Luncheon with Shawn Carlson, senior scientist of BlooMD.

About the Speaker: Shawn Carlson is Head of Plant Transformation at GigaCrop and a Co-Founder of BloomMD, two AgTech startup companies located at EnterpriseWorks in the Research Park. Shawn has over two decades of experience in agricultural biotechnology, spanning both industry and academic research. Prior to GigaCrop, Shawn held senior leadership roles at Chromatin, Inc., where she served as Director of Crop Genetics and Senior Project Leader, leading corn trait development programs from early research through deployment. She grew the team at the Research Park from incubation through scaling of the business with an R&D team and she developed many leading global ag company partnerships. Earlier in her career, she worked at Mycogen and DeKalb Genetics, and spent several years at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign as a Senior Research Specialist. Shawn combines deep hands-on laboratory expertise with a strong track record of leading cross-functional teams and collaborating across the agricultural innovation ecosystem.
