Are you planning to apply for a Fulbright grant to conduct research, pursue graduate study, or further your artistic growth, but don’t know where to start? Do you have a cool question you’d like to explore in a foreign country, but need the tools to design a viable project? Join us for a crash course in approaching the Fulbright Study/Research application (academic & creative/performing arts) with a focus on writing the Statement of Grant Purpose.

We will discuss what a Fulbright selection committee is looking for in your proposal and help you lay the foundation for a solid statement of purpose for your research and/or arts project, or your choice of university and program. Topics will include: choosing an appropriate program and/or affiliate abroad; posing a research question or creative goal that you can pursue through international fieldwork, lab and/or archival work, and independent study; navigating language requirements; approaching supplementary material requirements, including arts portfolios; determining the appropriate data and methods for your research question; and obtaining Institutional Review Board approval.
