Abstract
The Jackie Joyner Kersee Food, Agriculture, Nutrition, Innovation Center is a unique public-private partnership that is set to transform East St. Louis into a hub for urban agriculture and food systems research.  The center's mission is to provide quality youth and community programs in STEAM+Ag, food production, nutrition, and physical activity in East St. Louis and beyond. It will also provide space for youth and community members to engage in hands-on training and certification programs related to growing food, ag innovation, and nutrition. The ultimate goal of the center is to ignite economic empowerment and community development in the region by providing avenues for personal and professional growth for youth and community members.
