Matthew Luallen (who recently joined ITI), is a serial entrepreneur over his career.  Matt will share some insight into how cyber risk mitigation can be confronted by someone who builds their own company and leverages various elements including cybersecurity education, engineering, risk awareness and the ability to be creative in designing new solutions. In his talk Matt will cover some of the following:

  • You want to create and sell something - how do you get started?
  • Where can you find ideas to invent?  And once you have it, what do you do next, and next, and next, and next, ....
  • How can you make money and serve a purpose with Kickstarter, Shark Tank, UIUC competitions, the Small Business Association, or something similar?
  • How do you combine a commercially viable product with cybersecurity while thinking about climate impact?
