Join the Data Science User Group on Friday, November 3 from 12:00 - 1:00 PM. Learn more about the Data Science User Group hereThe aim of the user group is to build a community of interest around data science to foster learning, collaboration, and networking. The group will serve both students and professionals to bridge the gap between the analytical sciences and practical applications of industry.

For our November meetup, we are excited to welcome Shubhanshu Mishra, machine learning researcher at Instacart, who will be presenting on contextual language models.  Language models are very powerful at understanding complex intents in a text and relating it to world knowledge acquired from their training data. However, they lack in utilizing non textual knowledge better provided by the context in which the text data exists and is generated. In the presentation, Shubhanshu will highlight a series of work done on how we can add spatio temporal and social context to language models to improve the understanding of these models on real world business datasets.

If you are planning to attend and would like to eat lunch, please fill out this form (link) by Thursday, November 2nd @ noon so we can have an accurate headcount for food.  Also, please RSVP for the event at the CU-DSUG Meetup Page.
