Join the Data Science User Group on Friday, October 7 from 12:00 - 1:00 PM. Learn more about the Data Science User Group here. The aim of the user group is to build a community of interest around data science to foster learning, collaboration, and networking. The group will serve both students and professionals to bridge the gap between the analytical sciences and practical applications of industry.

For our October meetup, we are excited to welcome two professors from the School of Information Sciences at the University of Illinois.  Renee Hendricks, teaching assistant professor, will be sharing details about process mining and how it is used to evaluate changes to a process using time-stamped data as well as applications in the healthcare industry.  Then we'll hear from Haohan Wang, assistant professor, who will discuss the misalignment between AI's and human's perception of data and how machine learning techniques can help mitigate the issues.  If you are planning to attend in person, please fill out this form (link) by Thursday, October 6th @ noon so we can have an accurate headcount for food.  The meetup will continue to be hosted online via Zoom (link) for those of you who will be attending remotely.  Whether you are attending in person or virtually, please RSVP for the event at the CU-DSUG Meetup Page.

Attendees can RSVP on the Meetup page to attend the event in-person or virtually, but you must register at this link to reserve lunch.
