Is your small business interested in submitting a proposal for SBIR/STTR funding through the National Institutes of Health (NIH)? During this workshop offered by the University of Illinois SBA FAST Center, we will provide information about SBIR/STTR funding and how to craft a competitive proposal that meets the unique requirements of the NIH Institutes and Centers. The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs are highly competitive programs that provide non-dilutive capital to encourage small businesses to further R&D with the potential for commercialization. NIH small business programs are the largest source of early-stage capital for the life sciences in the U.S. These programs set aside over $1.2 billion in non-dilutive funds every year -- specifically to support small business research and development. Learn more about NIH SBIR/STTR programs here. Training will be provided by SBIR expert and medical startup consultant, Anna Lisa Somera. Participants in this training event will be eligible to receive free follow up direct consulting on SBIR/STTR applications following the event.

Join us on Wednesday, June 15 for the SBIR/STTR Summer 2022 Chicago Small Business Training Series: NIH Small Business Funding and Grant Preparation, the third of four training series. This will be a hybrid event, and participants can either attend on Zoom or in-person at Portal Innovations in Chicago. Additional information will be sent to registrants regarding parking, lunch selection, etc.

Upcoming in this series include:

June 23, 10:00-11:00 am – Rejection on SBIR/STTR awards and Planning Strategic Next Step
