The New Student Employee Orientation (NSEO) in Microsoft Teams: the topics covered will include an introduction to Illini Union, important policies, GREAT customer service, training & development and staying safe.

An intensive training program designed to provide university employees with the opportunity to acquire and strengthen cultural competencies, awareness, and skills. A $400 fee applies and space is available on a first come, first served basis. Please obtain supervisor approval if necessary and register in advance.

From FY 2026, certain supervisors who report to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) will be developing 1 or 2 of the ACUI’s Core Competencies. This initiative will involve the use of certain ACUI rubrics for performance evaluations as well as new training. Practical insights for experienced, new and aspiring managers: Leadership skills necessary for success as a supervisor and effective techniques for influencing coworkers. This workshop will be hands-on and participants will interact with one another as they gain actionable insights about their leadership styles and effective techniques for influencing coworkers.

This program is for new and recent supervisors. It offers an opportunity to develop self-awareness of management styles and personal biases, to practice strategies for resolving conflict, and to build confidence in leading others through feedback and coaching techniques. Advanced registration is required by June 23 and attendance costs $250 per participant.
