This New Employee Orientation (NEO) will be held in Microsoft Teams. This optional training is highly recommended for recent new hires. At this online training session, we will discuss the structure of the university and Student Affairs, the leadership of Illini Union, important workplace rules, payroll and benefits, training and development and staying safe.

This initiative will involve the use of certain ACUI rubrics for performance evaluations as well as new training. Illinois Chat will soon be the official AI offering on the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus. This session will showcase the Illinois Chat platform, including its purpose, use cases and future plans. It will include a Q&A and feedback session.

In response to the revocation of federal affirmative action requirements on January 21, 2025, the OVCDEI is offering several training sessions to explain the impact on our Recruitment and Hiring Guidelines, Search Process Toolkit, Affirmative Action Plan, and related training programs.

This hands-on beginners’ Large Language Models (LLMs) workshop will introduce the participants to text generating AIs. We will explore their features and capabilities and apply them in streamlining teaching tasks and research. Other concepts will include: privacy/security, legal and ethical considerations of AI, and generative AI’s place in higher education.

Build your intercultural skills! Understanding Intercultural Development introduces the Intercultural Development Continuum (IDC). Participants will explore the IDC stages, gain an overview of the IDI, and learn practical strategies for fostering intercultural growth. Those interested may choose to take the IDI at a later time for a personalized assessment.

Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) is required training for many roles at Illini Union, including Building Service Workers, Building Service Supervisors, Building Operating Engineers and Building Supervisors. The initial BBP certification training should be completed within 10 days of joining Illini Union. This live training session will be held in Microsoft Teams.
