Japan House is proud to be a participating garden in the North American Japanese Garden Association's Gardens for Peace (G4P) project. Japan House is offering outside garden tours featuring the unique pattern for peace raked in the dry rock garden. We hope that guests will appreciate the facets of the gardens that are meant to evoke peace and tranquility.

The Program Leader Safety and Best Practices Workshop guides program leaders (faculty, staff, or students leading programs) in preparing for the safest possible experience abroad. Those who lead, or assist, short-term education abroad or other University-related travel abroad for students must attend at least one workshop a year.

On September 22, 2023, please join us for a full day workshop "Law's Rule: A Workshop in Honor of Gerald Postema" taking place at the College of Law Building, Faculty Lounge, at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. This event is co-hosted by the Women & Gender in Global Perspectives Program and the Program for Law and Philosophy.

International Safety and Security will host informational presentations to review CAM Policy HR-39, International Travel Safety. Topics include requirements for travelers, the international insurance, and finding resources related to travel abroad. A Q&A will be included. This session is for travelers and staff supporting travel abroad.

Japan House offers the opportunity for guests to celebrate autumn together in the beauty of the gardens with a special tea ceremony to honor the Harvest Moon followed by a special shakuhachi performance by the ponds near Japan House. Note: Japan House will NOT be open to the public during Tsukimi. Activities will take place outside so plan accordingly.
