Join us to explore how inequalities and inequity can emerge in community-engaged research and our responsibility in as researchers to address it. Participants in this interactive workshop will walk away with strategies to incorporate equity-minded practices in their work.

In this webinar, Jesus Sarol, Ph.D., IHSI Senior Research Biostatistician, will delve into the intricacies of validity assessment from the perspective of epidemiologic research, discuss validity in different aspects or stages of research study, such as subject selection, measurement, analysis, and interpretation, and describe some common pitfalls and their consequences.

The Cancer Center at Illinois will hold its 2nd annual Undergraduate Research Symposium on April 25, 2024, from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in Beckman Institute atrium. Undergraduate students from CCIL research programs will present posters highlighting their research experiences.

The Cancer Center at Illinois and the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology will host Luisel Ricks-Santi for a seminar titled "Molecular Epidemiology of Triple Negative Breast Cancer in African American Women." Ricks-Santi is a research member at the University of Florida Health Cancer Center and the Associate Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
