    Barbara Oakley says that “students fool themselves into thinking they’re learning.” Students may believe that they “know” the content and that they can easily retrieve what they learned; however when it comes down to doing assignments or exams, they are often unsuccessful. Come and learn how to teach our students how to be more efficient and effective learners.

    The emphasis will be on moving from principles to practice in practical, tangible ways: by designing learning activities and assessments that meet students’ diverse learning strategies, by presenting course content in ways that support students’ different learning styles and abilities, and by providing greater latitude in the way students demonstrate their knowledge.
