In Focus is a 4-week program designed to address concerns students with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and ADHD-like symptoms commonly have. This series is typically offered throughout the fall and spring semesters. This program is open to all Illinois students—you do not need to be a current client of the Counseling Center.

These peer-facilitated workshops focus on "Students Helping Students" by enhancing mental health, well-being, and success. Presented by Counseling Center Paraprofessionals.

The Harm Reduction Peers and Counseling Center staff are partnering with the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District to provide supplies like Narcan and drug testing kits to the campus community. Find us at our rotating location, ask us about how to help in an emergency or refer a friend for services, and learn how to use these important tools.

During the academic year, we offer drop-in Test Anxiety Workshops. These workshops are free for students, but space is limited, so we request that you register in advance by completing a brief form for the date you want to register. For Spring 2025 we will offer this workshop several times. Please register using the link in the title.

Krannert Art Museum and the Women's Resources Center are collaborating for this next iteration for Survivor Strategies. This session will feature a deep-dive on an artwork on themes of healing and empowerment, followed by a paint and sip inspired with a slideshow of collection artworks.

“Women’s History Month: Native Perspectives,” will be a moderated discussion involving visiting Indigenous scholar Dr. Urla Marcus (Northern Cheyenne/Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa) and Native women at Illinois.

Dr. Urla Marcus will lead a conversation on Howasteya Oyuspapi: Capturing Their Good Voices, a documentary sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities and Black Hills State University. This film was created with the goal of documenting and preserving elders’ wisdom, cultural knowledge, and experiences.

In this interactive workshop, we will talk about strategies to cope with communication apprehension for first-gen college students as they navigate the terrain of academic life. We will include activities and hands-on practice for students to build confidence and find their authentic voices when preparing for class presentations, research presentations, and group meetings.
