Join us on Thursday for the third webinar in the BRIDGE Education Access and Equity with the Global South Signature Initiative Webinar Series, a collaborative, informational effort between the University of Birmingham and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. This initiative brings together educators and researchers from around the world to collaborate on inclusive, culturally responsive approaches that expand access to quality education in Global South contexts. This session will spotlight cutting-edge research on higher education equity in South Africa, collaborative school improvement efforts in the UAE, and the ethical use of AI in student assessment. Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with global education leaders working at the intersection of research, policy, and practice.

This webinar will be chaired by Dr. Meng Tian (University of Birmingham) with three presenters: 

• Professor Thandi Lewin (University of Johannesburg): Transformations and continuities: (In)equity in higher education in South Africa in 2025
• Dr. Philip Anderson (University of Birmingham Dubai): The Action Research Network: A Collaborative Initiative Driving School Improvement in the UAE – Implications for Policy and Practice
• Dr. Hayden Noel (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign): Beyond the Algorithm: Exploring Student Acceptance of AI Grading Through an Adapted TAM Framework
