Join ISSS for a tour of Amish Country to observe and learn more about the Amish way of life on Saturday, April 19. This is one of our most popular programs of the year! The Amish culture is based on the old order of traditional Christianity and is distinct in that they choose to live a simple life without much of the modern technology that we use daily. We will be leaving campus at 9:00am from the International Studies Building (910 S Fifth St, Champaign) and return to campus by around 4pm. The total cost, including a guided tour of Amish country with stops at local businesses, a traditional homemade meal in an Amish home, and a buggy shop tour, is $30 per person. Please bring cash for shopping in Amish stores if you would like to make other purchases, as credit may not be accepted.
