This session offers practical guidance and foundational knowledge for campus professionals who work with international students. Topics will include common challenges international students face—such as immigration regulations, academic expectations, language barriers, cultural adjustment, and emotional well-being—as well as the campus and community resources available to support them. Attendees will also gain clarity on their own role in helping students navigate these challenges with empathy and confidence.
Who Should Attend:
Advisors, staff, instructors (including graduate teaching assistants), and others in student-facing roles who want to better understand and support international students.
Registration required.
Illini Union staff are welcome to attend as long as they have any permission necessary from their supervisors.
