The Critical Engagement of Equity (CEE) Doula Training Program is designed to address some of the structural violences, healthcare biases, and persisting inequities that inform the high maternal mortality and infant mortality rates of African American, Native Indian, and Alaska Native (AI/AN) women and babies, respectively. In addition to a joint training with medical students and community members, a small part of the program is the development of art that addresses the notion of an equity-centered birthing experience.
