Gen AI at CITL

How can generative AI support ideation and conceptual thinking in graphic design education? Through classroom projects, two graphic design students and their professor will show how GenAI tools were used to spark ideas, explore visual directions, and expand conceptual thinking. Students will discuss their workflow, the role of prompting and iteration, and how they navigated the relationship between generated outputs and their own design decisions. The session presents project outcomes that illustrate how generative AI can support ideation while leaving creative decisions and judgment in the hands of students.
