Center for Innovation in Teaching & Learning

A syllabus is a valuable tool that is often underused by students. In addition to being a guide, it can help you make your course more inclusive and accessible. You can also protect yourself from scrutiny, convey expectations, and set boundaries, all at the start of the semester. Make the most of your class’s go-to document by attending this workshop, where we will analyze examples, talk about the must-haves, and consider best practices.

This workshop is part of the What You Need to Know: Essentials of Course Design series. You may sign up for any or all workshops in the series using the registration form. From 3:30pm-4:00pm after every workshop in the series, you can stick around to learn about Canvas features relevant to the day's topic.

This workshop counts towards the Graduate Teacher Certificate or the Certificate in Foundations of Teaching.
