Come and explore El Dia de los Muertos during Spurlock Sunday! El Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), traditionally celebrated November 1-2, is a multi-day holiday that involves family and friends gathering to pay respects and to remember friends and family members who have died. You can learn about some of the symbols of this holiday, like sugar skulls (calaveras) and marigolds (cempazĂșchitl), and explore the ofrendas (offerings on the family altar). We will offer artifacts from our teaching collection for you to view up close, as well as craft opportunities to make your own decorations. Join us for an afternoon of remembering and celebrating the ancestors who make our families special!
