Stroll the C.H. Moore Homestead DeWitt County Museum grounds, the home and heart of the Apple ’n Pork Festival.

This unique harvest festival features more than 25 food stands offering numerous old-fashioned food items; a juried art show; 19th century craft demonstrations and sales; tours of the historical C.H. Moore Mansion; an antique tractor show; live musical entertainment; meal grinding, rope-making, woodcarving and blacksmith demonstrations; Civil War living history camp; tomahawk throwing; pony rides; farm museum displays; children’s miniature train rides; a large flea market with over 250 dealers; and much more.

Admission to the C.H. Moore Homestead DeWitt County Museum grounds and the flea market is free. Tram and bus transportation to and from the museum grounds is readily available for a small fee.

Since the first modest festival which was held on the museum grounds in 1968 and consisted of a kettle of soup and stack of sandwiches, the Apple ‘n Pork Festival has grown to become one of Central Illinois’ largest and best-attended fall events. Still among the most popular food items are the smoked ham sandwiches, kettle-cooked ham and beans, and grilled bratwurst. Proceeds from purchases made on the museum grounds help with expenses associated with the operation and maintenance of the C.H. Moore Homestead DeWitt County Museum.
