Rest Lab 10: Path explores movement as a form of reflection and rest. A winding path invites visitors to explore the meditative and therapeutic potential of movement through their own pace and sensory experience. Supported by soft furnishings, sensory tools, and a sound library, the installation encourages multiple ways of navigating through activity and stillness. Each Rest Lab is unique and encourages visitors to experiment with various ways of taking up space in the galleries of Krannert Art Museum or elsewhere on campus. In the museum, Rest Lab has occupied spaces that otherwise would remain empty as they “rest” between exhibitions. Creating spaces that resist the demands for productivity, urgency, and overexertion, Rest Lab invites visitors to slow down.
