Time changes tastes and goals. Things we wanted yesterday don't mean as much today. The transition into a new year offers an opportunity to clarify what we value and ask ourselves, "What parts of me will continue to impede any growth I seek moving forward? How can I let go of these habits, beliefs, or desires in order to create room for whatever is to come?” We recognize that what got us ‘here' won't get us ‘there.'
Intentional changes that result in evolutionary growth often require making deliberate, alternative choices that are better suited for constructing the person we've committed to becoming. A bit like the necessary pruning and weeding needed to nurture a healthy garden, we must willingly remove aspects of our identity that draw resources away from newer parts of us we've committed to growing.
Join us in a symbolic activity that involves identifying, commemorating, and performatively parting ways with aspects of ourselves that compromise our growth and evolution.
