Thank you for your interest in the Native American House Book Club, which will feature Chocolate Woman Dreams the Milky Way: Mapping Embodied Indigenous Performance by Monique Mojica (Kuna and Rappahannock) and Dr. Brenda Farnell (Professor of Socio-Cultural & Linguistic Anthropology and American Indian Studies, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign).
Will Bartee (Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma; Undergraduate Major: Integrative Biology; Native American House Ambassador) and Dr. Charlotte Davidson (Director, Native American House) are excited to serve as facilitators of the Book Club!
The Book Club will meet on the following days:
- Wednesday, September 25, 5:30 to 7 p.m. (dinner included), at the Native American House
- Wednesday, October 23, 5:30 to 7 p.m. (dinner included), at the Native American House
- Thursday, November 14, 4 to 7 p.m., Spurlock Museum of World Cultures. The last Book Club meeting will involve attending a MillerCom Lecture provided by the authors. The event will include a reception, and we will have the opportunity to have books signed by the authors, including taking a group photo. More information to come!
The first 20 registrants will receive a FREE copy of the book! Upon signup, you will receive a confirmation email from NAH to confirm your registration, including if you are eligible to receive a copy.
