The Kuna (Tule/Guna) women of Panama are known for their hand-sewn molas. These colorful, multi-layer cloths are decorated in intricate patterns and serve as front and back panels on the women's blouses. Molas are also a very popular souvenir with tourists.
This Spurlock Sunday will feature two crafts based on mola designs: 1) single-sheet coloring pages and 2) multi-layered paper cuts that will help the makers appreciate what the Kuna artists do. A selection of the beautiful cloths will also be on display.
