Join Us For A Wonderful Documentary!

Join the Cancer Center at Illinois for a screening of "Cracking the Code: Phil Sharp and the Biotech Revolution." The documentary chronicles the life and career of Nobel Laureate and Illinois alumnus, Phil Sharp, who will attend the event. The film is narrated by Mark Ruffalo and part of the PBS Independent Lens documentary series.

Join us for a celebration of student filmmaking at the Illinois Student Film Festival, featuring the work of students from across the University of Illinois campus. The programming will include about two hours of shorts and other activities to celebrate the hard work being done by student filmmakers across the University of Illinois campus.

The Department of Media & Cinema Studies presents the fourth annual MACS Student Showcase, featuring faculty-curated work created by students in MACS classes throughout the academic year.

Our Mr. Matsura, a feature documentary film, is the story of photographer Frank Matsura who journeyed from his native Japan to live in rural Washington State in the early 1900s. The film presents a picture of the “frontier” that departs from the existing popular culture narrative and celebrates the singular contribution of a community-building immigrant artist in America.
