From sunset of the first day to sunset of the last day, Samhain marks the Pagan New Year, a time for honoring the dead, cleansing, and releasing. For many Wiccans, Samhain is the most important Sabbat. It’s the time to remember the ancestors, and the time to celebrate the harvest and all that has been accomplished over the year.

Join the Physics Department for this fall's Saturday Physics for Everyone on Saturday, the 4th. This in-person lecture series continues with Elizabeth Goldschmidt's "Quantum Networking with Photons". Spns lipid transporters are critical for transporting sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) and lysolipids across cellular membranes. S1P regulates the growth, survival, and migration of cells with profound proangiogenic effects. In humans, Spns2 acts as the main S1P transporter in endothelial cells, making it a potential drug target for modulating S1P export and signaling.
