  Birding with Lily: Nature Preserve: Main Parking Lot

  Nature Preserve: Main Parking Lot - 2100 W Chautauqua Rd, Carbondale, IL 62901. If the parking lot is full, there is also a parking access on Freeman Street.

  Join Master Naturalist, Lily Glaeser, for a leisurely walk in nature to look at birds! Learn to identify our feathered friends in some of our local sites. All ages and experiences are welcome. Registration is required in case the event needs to be cancelled due to inclement weather. Binoculars are available for use, please reserve a pair.

  Crystal Lake Parking Lot near the trailhead, just west of the park office (38.00610, -89.42163)

  Join us January 11, 3:30-6:00pm on an afternoon hike, where we’ll see some of the restoration forests and ponds. Then, we’ll drive to a more open area of Pyramid SP to watch for birds along the roadside.

  Little Grand Canyon Spring Hike and Bird

  Little Grand Canyon Trailhead (37.68029, -89.39511)

  Explore the Little Grand Canyon Trail loop on this interpretive hike with moderately difficult terrain and often slick rocks of around 3 miles. We’ll enjoy the views looking out on the Big Muddy and Mississippi River Valleys while learning about the flora and fauna along the way.
