Bio:

Michael Hua is a seasoned professional in the field of nuclear engineering, currently serving as the Director of Nuclear, Chemical, and Materials Engineering and Nuclear Team Lead at Helion since January 2021. Hua has been a Guest Scientist and Graduate Student Research Assistant at Los Alamos National Laboratory since May 2018, contributing to the Advanced Nuclear Technology Group with a focus on neutron noise techniques. With a strong academic background from the University of Michigan, Hua held the role of Distinguished Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Consortium for Monitoring, Technology and Verification, along with positions as Graduate and Undergraduate Research Fellow, working on nuclear nonproliferation detection. Hua's early research experience includes a position at the National Science Foundation, where significant discoveries related to matroid-representability and coding theory were made. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy, Master's, and Bachelor's degrees in Nuclear Engineering, all attained from the University of Michigan.
