At this event, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the Crocker Land Expedition from Adam Doskey, curator of the Rare Book & Manuscript Library and an expert on the expedition. In 1913, seven Americans, including two Illinois alumni, traveled to the western coast of Greenland on an arctic expedition. The story of this ill-fated expedition will leave you on the edge of your seat.
In addition to the lecture and a reception featuring food fitting of the theme, the museum will be open that evening for guests to explore. A selection of objects from the exhibition will be on display, and docents will be available to answer your questions.
We hope to see you at the Spurlock Museum!
