Jeremy Sarkin is Distinguished Research Professor of Law at NOVA University of Lisbon in Lisbon, Portugal and an Extraordinary Professor of Law at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. He has served as an acting judge in the High Court in South Africa and Chairperson-Rapporteur of the United Nations Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances. Sarkin was Legal Advisor to the Chief of the Herero community in Namibia for their reparations claims against Germany from 2000 to 2014.
