Ramova Theatre and Japan House proudly present:

Nick Offerman - An evening of humor and mirth with just a splash of comedy. Songs and slow talking that should, honestly, fix everything.

Mature Content Warning: Please note that certain content in the show may not be suitable for younger audience members.

This event is a collaboration between Ramova Theatre and Japan House. All proceeds go to support Japan House programming. Japan House is extremely grateful for the endless support, planning, and work contributed by the Ramova Theatre staff to help make this event a success, including Other Half Brewing and Off Hours Beer Co.

Japan House is a unit of the College of Fine and Applied Arts at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Through university classes, community classes, and public events, Japan House aims to make the beauty of traditional Japanese arts easily accessible through hands-on experiences. Japan House wishes to bring about cultural understanding, offer exposure to new perspectives, and provide our guests a chance to embrace the four spirits of the Way of Tea (chado) -- harmony, respect, purity, and tranquility within an immersive Japanese environment.

Nick Offerman is an alumnus of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and received a BFA in Theatre in 1993. During his time at the University, Nick studied kabuki and Zen aesthetics under Professor Emeritus Shozo Sato - the founder of the original Japan House. Since his time at the University, Nick Offerman has been a major supporter of Japan House - routinely performing shows and displaying his woodworking skills in support of Japan House's mission.

Opening act: Ho Etsu Taiko

Largely performing original compositions, Ho Etsu Taiko blends the culture of Japanese-American taiko with influences that celebrates the diversity of their ensemble. Their mission is to spread joy through each and every drumbeat by creating music that is true to themselves.
