Join us for a visit to Amish Country in central Illinois. The Amish are a Christian community known for simple living, strong family ties, and close-knit communities. Many Amish people chose to not use certain modern technologies so they can focus on their values and traditions.
On this trip, you will learn more about Amish culture, daily life, values, and beliefs. A local guide will lead the tour, share information, and answer your questions. You will also see horse-drawn buggies up close and visit a buggy shop to learn how they are made and used. You will also enjoy a delicious Amish meal.
Registration opens April 20 at 11 a.m. CST. and is expected to fill almost immediately.
Important: There is a no cancellation and no refund policy for this trip. Please read all information carefully and confirm your availability before registering.
Who can join: All current students, scholars, and dependents (age 10 and older) of students or scholars at the University of Illinois are eligible to register.
Cost: $35 (includes transportation, guided tour, and lunch)
