As part of the program, students will learn about the agrarian practices, customs, cultures, and history of Panama, and see why Panama is such an important piece of American agriculture. This program is designed specifically for first and second-year ACES students in ALL MAJORS!
Example visits include:
- Panama Canal (one of the seven wonders of the modern world)
- Panama Viejo (founded in 1519)
- Small and large-scale farms (pineapple, horses, dairy & beef, sugarcane, coffee, citrus, and cacao)
- Ag Research & Teaching Facility (meet local aextension agens)
- Community non-profits
- Free Day (possible to go zip lining, birdwatching, hiking, horseback riding, fishing, etc.)
