Join Professor Jan Brooks to learn more about the summer 2022 ACES Faculty-Led Program: Service Learning, Child, Family, Health and Agriculture in South Africa!
The study tour to Cape Town will feature cultural/historical tours and engagement with local community organizations. Students will see first-hand:
- Introduction to South African history, politics, and legacy of apartheid.
- Role of youth in liberation struggle.
- Post-apartheid society.
- Families and Children; educational policy, family dynamics.
- Post-apartheid challenges: HIV/AIDS, poverty, crime.
- Community resiliency; health and food security.This program is open to students from ALL MAJORS. Come to Mumford Hall, Room 126 at 4:30 p.m. on December 6th to learn more about this amazing and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
