Gut Feelings: How Probiotics Shape the Pet Microbiome

We are pleased to invite you to a free live webinar featuring Dr. Breanna Metras.

Date: Tuesday, September 8, 2026
Time: 3:00 – 4:00 PM CT
Format: Live Online Webinar

Dr. Breanna Metras is a microbiome scientist at a leading pet food company. With a background in biochemistry, she earned her PhD in Nutritional Sciences and completed her Registered Dietitian (RDN) training at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Throughout her PhD and postdoctoral research, she focused on the role of fermented foods in supporting both human and companion animal health. Dr. Metras is passionate about translating microbiome and nutrition science into meaningful health outcomes.

The companion animal microbiome plays a critical role in digestive health, immune function, and overall well-being, with nutrition serving as one of its most influential factors. In this webinar, Dr. Metras will provide an overview of the pet microbiome, discuss how nutrition and probiotics influence the gut health of dogs and cats, and share insights into how probiotics are developed for the commercial pet food industry.
