- Mathematics Seminar Series: Quantum Working Group
Speaker: Gabriel Provencher Langlois
Title: Introduction, my research, and my interests in quantum physicsAbstract: I will briefly introduce myself, describe my research interests, and outline some recent work I’ve done in continuous optimization. Regarding the latter, I will briefly show that differential inclusions arising from linear and convex quadratic programs are integrable, that is, their solutions can be computed exactly. This analysis naturally leads to simple algorithms that compute solutions to linear and quadratic programs exactly or numerically up to machine precision, and that are very fast. Finally, I will briefly discuss my recent interests in the mathematical foundations of quantum mechanics, which arose from work on hydrodynamic quantum analogues.
This is the weekly seminar of the Quantum Working Group in the Department of Mathematics. For questions, please reach out to Marius Junge, Gabriele La Nave, Felix Leditzky, or Amanda Young.
