You are invited to join a dynamic learning community by participating in this specially designed workshop series for all faculty (across all disciplines and rank). Session 3: Innovative Multimedia Assessments of Student Learning: Going Beyond the Traditional Papers and Exams
An important learning goal is for our students to think critically and to create imaginatively. Offering multimedia assignments can offer students rich and dynamic learning experiences by integrating various media formats such as text, images, audio, and videos into cohesive projects. Unlike traditional research papers and exams, these assignments provide greater flexibility, catering to diverse learners and enabling multiple ways to engage with course content and demonstrate understanding.
When implemented effectively, emerging multimedia tools can enhance the quality of teaching and learning in higher education. These tools motivate students through creative options, fostering higher levels of engagement with academic material. In this session, we will share the creative multimedia assignments that your colleagues developed to innovatively assess student learning. Handouts will include directions, resources, and rubrics for grading.
