The Center for Innovation in Teaching & Learning is dedicated to promoting, enhancing, and assessing teaching effectiveness and student learning. We assist faculty, academic units, and teaching assistants in improving instruction. In addition to the events listed below, we are always available for individual consultations or special activities within a department or college. Most of the workshops count toward CITL certificate program continuing education credit. Please check back often to see what events have been added. Teaching presence strongly impacts the way students build their knowledge in your course. In this session, you will learn how to strategically apply your teaching presence to the critical roles you have as a Teaching Assistant and gain insights from outstanding faculty here at Illinois. 

Teaching Excellence - Topics addressed in this workshop relate to the following elements of the Definition of Teaching Excellence at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign: 

  • Well-designed
  • Well-delivered

This workshop counts towards the requirements of the Graduate Teacher Certificate, the Certificate in Foundations of Teaching, or the Certificate in Technology-Enhanced Teaching.
