Center for Innovation in Teaching & Learning

This workshop is focused on assisting instructors from various disciplines in examining diverse methodologies for assessing student learning. By applying Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to student grading, the workshop aims to serve as a forum for understanding the merits of alternative grading approaches and the potential to catalyze the departure from conventional assessment formats such as exams. Participants will gain insights and resources for integrating alternative assessment techniques into their curriculum, fostering enhanced student achievement without compromising academic standards. Key features of the workshop include an introductory session on Universal Design for Grading (UDG) and dedicated time for hands-on exploration and implementation of novel grading methodologies. Complimentary lunch will be provided to attendees.
