The Center for Innovation in Teaching & Learning is dedicated to promoting, enhancing, and assessing teaching effectiveness and student learning. We assist faculty, academic units, and teaching assistants in improving instruction. In addition to the events listed below, we are always available for individual consultations or special activities within a department or college. Most of the workshops count toward CITL certificate program continuing education credit. Please check back often to see what events have been added. Center for Innovation in Teaching & Learning

CITL and the ESL-ITA Program are offering a series of two weekly workshops to help graduate students prepare for the English Proficiency Interview (EPI). Attendance is free, but registration is required at https://go.illinois.edu/EPI_Workshop_Registration.

Session 1 will focus on clarification and negotiation strategies and answering open-ended questions.

  • This session is offered from 5:00pm to 5:50pm on September 28 and will be repeated on October 6. The same content is provided on both dates. You may attend one of these sessions.

Session 2 will focus on defining terms.

  • This session is offered from 5:00pm to 5:50pm on September 29 and will be repeated on October 8. The same content is provided on both dates. You may attend one of these sessions.
