Faculty Seminar Series on Teaching & Learning
Theme: Creating Success When Teaching & Learning Remotely
Come join a dynamic learning community by participating in this specially designed online seminar series for all faculty (across all disciplines and rank). We’ll share strategies and best practices from research-based pedagogy. Great conversations and handouts provided.
Session 1: “I wish I had known that earlier”: Using Informal (IEF) and Formal (ICES) Online Feedback to Improve Teaching and Learning
This semester, the campus will be using the formal student ratings are called the Instructor and Course Evaluation System (ICES) Online, which are administered at the end of your course. Through careful analysis, you can learn valuable information for next time, but the results are too late to help your current class.
However, by using an Informal Early Feedback (IEF) form early in this semester, you can receive timely feedback to immediately implement. You’ll get important information right now about what is successful and not as successful on both the teaching and learning. In this session, we will share with you how to maximize gathering and analyzing the online (informal and formal) student feedback. (and come back to CITL for consultation!)
This workshop counts towards the Graduate Teacher Certificate, the Teacher Scholar Certificate or the Certificate in Foundations of Teaching.
