What can be weirder that the idea of race? A concept that hasn’t existed in the world for even a millennium and yet has been part of a foundational system of capitalism, and many other global advancements for centuries. “BLXCK Uncanny: Tales of the Black + the Weird” is an exhibition in response to the times we are in. The X marking the unknown. As we are accelerating toward technologically advanced futures, we are regressing toward pasts that are not so distant as many of us would like to pretend and unfortunately many of us would like to speed toward.
